Cookie policy
Last updated: 2 July 2026
A cookie is a small text file placed on your device when you visit a website. This page describes what kernweb.be actually sets, and the rule is simple: nothing without your consent.
By default: no cookies
As long as you have not given your consent through the consent banner, browsing kernweb.be (home, sector pages, blog, glossary) places no cookies on your device. No advertising cookies, no trackers. Refusing changes nothing about your browsing experience.
With your consent: audience measurement
If you accept through the banner, we activate Google Analytics 4 to understand how the site is used (pages viewed, where visits come from). Google Analytics then sets the following cookies:
- _ga: anonymised visitor identifier, kept for 13 months.
- _ga_*: measurement session state, kept for 13 months.
This data is used for usage statistics only. It is processed by Google (transfers governed by the European Commission's standard contractual clauses, see our privacy policy).
Change your mind at any time
Your choice (consent or refusal) is stored in your browser. To change it, click "Manage cookies" at the bottom of any page: the banner reappears. Withdrawing consent applies from that point on; you can also delete existing cookies through your browser settings.
Technical cookies
- Administration area: a session cookie and a security cookie (form protection) are only set when logging into the site's management interface, which is reserved for our team. A visitor is never exposed to them.
- Contact form: our form is hosted on magnet.kern-it.be, a KERN-IT service. It sets a technical language-preference cookie, strictly necessary for it to work.
Managing cookies in your browser
You can view, block or delete cookies at any time through your browser settings (under "Privacy" or "Cookies and site data" depending on the browser).
