Websites for schools, institutes and training centres

A school website that fills your information sessions

Before walking through a school's door, a future student, an adult going back to study or a parent compares three of them online. They look for the programme, the timetable, the entry requirements and the next date to come and visit. We design school websites that answer these questions in a few clicks, that your team keeps up to date itself, in one language or several. From Brussels.

Or start by estimating your budget with the price simulator, in two minutes.

What your future students look at

Your programmes

Programmes sorted by field, each with its curriculum, duration, qualification and career prospects. Visitors should find theirs without knowing your organisation chart.

How it works

Timetables, location, calendar, entry requirements and cost. For an adult with a job, this is often what decides.

The next step

An information session, an open day, a pre-enrolment or a contact. Every programme page leads there.

Three audiences, three websites

Schools and institutes

Adult education, evening and Saturday classes, secondary schools: a website that speaks to adults and parents alike, with a calendar kept up to date by the team.

Colleges and campuses

Bachelor's and master's degrees, campus life and international students: a bilingual website, a rich catalogue and open days in the spotlight.

Training centres

A catalogue of certified courses, dated sessions, online enrolment and a page for companies that train their teams.

What we build for schools

A custom Wagtail website that your team manages without depending on us, and that belongs to you: domain name, content, data and code.

  • A programme catalogue: one page per programme, managed by the teaching team, with curriculum, timetable, duration, qualification and entry requirements.
  • Programmes that rank: each page is designed for "programme + city", where future students search.
  • A calendar: information sessions, open days, start dates and enrolment deadlines, published by your teams.
  • Enrolment: a clear pre-enrolment form, or a link to your existing enrolment tool.
  • Several languages: French, Dutch, English: each version has its own addresses, and Google tells them apart.
  • Accessibility: contrast, keyboard navigation and content everyone can read, including adults new to digital tools.
  • Your rules: your brand guidelines, role-based rights and an approval workflow when several departments publish.

A school website exists first to be found and understood. We structure your programme offering before drawing a single page: fields, programme pages, study paths. Design comes next, in your colours. Texts are validated with you before publication.

Two websites imagined for schools

To show what we mean by a successful school website, we designed two fictional schools.

Institut Horizon, an adult education school: adult learners, evening and Saturday classes, programmes sorted by field, the next intake and information sessions visible from the home page. The tone is warm, and practical information comes first.

Haute École Meridia, a campus: a bilingual website, a programme finder by field, bachelor's and master's degrees presented with their credits, the open day in the spotlight and student life in full view.

Both websites are concepts: the schools, faces and figures are imagined. Your website will start from your own offering and identity.

And your internal platform?

The public website presents the school. Managing programmes, classes, enrolments and timetables, or the teachers' platform, is the job of another tool. KERN-IT, of which KernWeb is the web division, builds it: SchoolCore, school management software. The two can talk to each other, for example to publish on the website the programmes already described in the platform.

A budget designed for schools

The Start package begins at EUR 5,000 for a polished, manageable presence, and the Business package, around EUR 12,000, covers a custom multilingual Wagtail website with a catalogue and a calendar. A 10 to 30% deposit starts the project, the balance follows the milestones, and the price is set once the scope is agreed together. First-year hosting and team training are included. Private training centres based in Brussels can, under conditions, benefit from the Region's Prime Digitalisation grant: we help you check your eligibility.

Frequently asked questions from schools

From EUR 5,000 for a polished presence, around EUR 12,000 for a custom multilingual website with a programme catalogue and a calendar, which you own. The details are on our packages page, and our article on website prices in Belgium explains what drives the budget. For a personalised estimate, our price calculator answers in two minutes.

Yes. Programme pages, the calendar and news are managed in Wagtail, with no technical knowledge needed. Everyone has the rights of their role, and an approval step can come before publication. We train your teams at delivery.

Yes. Multilingual is included in the Business package: each language has its own addresses and content, and Google shows each visitor the right version. Translations can come from your teams or be prepared with AI, then proofread.

The website can link to your learning platform and your enrolment tool, or reuse information from them. If it is the platform itself that needs rebuilding, KERN-IT builds it with SchoolCore.

We start with an inventory of your existing pages and rankings: useful content is kept or improved, every old URL is redirected and Search Console is transferred, with no downtime. A redesign always involves some variation, but a well-prepared migration limits losses and builds better foundations. The full method is in our article on migrating without losing your rankings.

A Start package is delivered within a few weeks depending on the project; allow from four weeks for a custom build, from first call to launch. You approve at each milestone (design, development, launch) and we handle the rest, migration and redirects included.

Let's talk about your school

A 15-minute exploratory call, no strings attached. We will have visited your current website before we talk.
