Websites for cultural institutions and remembrance projects
A website that makes your programme shine
A cultural website dies when its agenda is three months old. We design institutional websites built to live: events and content published by your teams, several languages, real accessibility, and a platform that lasts. Custom-built, from Brussels.
Or start with our work for the Liberation Route Europe Foundation.
What your audiences look at
The programme
What is on, when, where and for whom: the agenda is the most visited page of any cultural website.
The mission
Your reason for being and your partners: what a funding body, a patron or a journalist checks.
Accessibility
Several languages, readability, mobile: a cultural audience is broad by definition, the site must be too.
What we build for institutions
A custom website, easy to manage and built to grow with your institution. You edit day-to-day content yourself, on a solid technical base built with Wagtail. The domain name, the content, the data and the code developed for your project belong to you.
- A living agenda and events: published by your teams, or even by your partners themselves, like the organiser portal of Europe Remembers.
- Rich content: exhibitions, collections, routes, educational resources, structured and findable.
- Native multilingual: FR/NL/EN and more, designed into the architecture, not bolted on.
- Mapping when needed: places, routes and points of interest, like the Liberation Route Europe platform.
- Accessibility: contrast, keyboard navigation, readability: a cultural website owes it to its public.
- Visibility: a structure optimised so your programme and your topics can be found.
- Editorial autonomy: designed for rotating teams, staff and volunteers alike.
A cultural institution does not communicate like a shop. We work with your realities: layered governance and approvals, funding bodies to document, a visual identity often bound by a charter, and scientific or remembrance content that demands accuracy. Content is approved with your teams before publication.
They trust us
Liberation Route Europe, transmitting history across Europe
Since 2020, the LRE Foundation has trusted us with its platform: making the history of the liberation of Europe accessible, online and in the field. Read the case study.

A budget designed for institutions
The Start package begins at EUR 5,000 and covers a polished, manageable presence. A 10 to 30% deposit starts the project, the balance follows the milestones, and once the scope is agreed together, the price is fixed. First-year hosting and team training are included. For cultural associations on small budgets, our solidarity programme Kern4Good builds websites at cost price, in sponsored cohorts.
Frequently asked questions from institutions
From EUR 5,000 for a polished presence, around EUR 12,000 for a custom website that you own. The details are on our packages page, and our article on website prices in Belgium explains what drives the budget. For a personalised estimate, our price calculator answers in two minutes.
Yes: for Europe Remembers, we built a portal where organisers (associations, museums, municipalities) publish and manage their own commemorations. The same principle adapts to a cultural network, with approval by your teams if you wish.
Depending on your status: operating or project subsidies sometimes cover a digital component (your funding body remains the best source, and we document the project for your applications). Cultural associations can also apply to our solidarity programme Kern4Good (websites at cost price, in sponsored cohorts).
We start with an inventory of your existing pages and rankings: useful content is kept or improved, every old URL is redirected and Search Console is transferred, with no downtime. A redesign always involves some variation, but a well-prepared migration limits losses and builds better foundations. The full method is in our article on migrating without losing your rankings.
Allow 2 to 3 weeks for a Start package and about twelve weeks for a custom build, from first call to launch. You approve at each milestone (design, development, launch) and we handle the rest, migration and redirects included.
Let's talk about your institution
A 15-minute exploratory call, no strings attached. We will have visited your current site before we talk.
